Ashland Belle Helene

Built in 1841 and used as a setting for several movies such as "The Long Hot Summer," Ashland Belle Helene is owned and maintained by Shell Chemical but seldom open to the public. When we decided to move to Florida, I spent a wintery afternoon photographing my favorite antebellum house from behind the surrounding chain link fence.
