For several years my son and his family lived in Las Cruces, NM, near White Sands and the Trinity Site. I had a half-formed notion to visit Trinity Site during one of the two annual open houses and see my grandkids all in one trip. The family thought I was nuts. My son and family have now moved to New Orleans and the Trinity open house has been cancelled for April 2024 due to "unforeseen circumstances." This year I saw the movie "Oppenheimer," reread Martin Cruz Smith's "Stallion Gate" and will rethink my bucket list.
