"Did you like the flowers I sent?
You could've called to thank me,
well you could've called.
I tried to kiss you
on Brooklyn Avenue,
but you got in your car, before I could move.
I've been falling like the rain,
but you've got your umbrella in my way..."
~ Umbrella, Dog's Eye View
Went to Eataly today with my sister. I had other pictures of beautiful food that I wanted to post. I had even better shots of the Flatiron but I actually went with this one because of the couple in the lower corner. I thought it made a rather poorly-shot photo a bit more interesting. In fact, this picture was taken accidentally.
Right after I took this picture, some idiot driver (happened to be an out-of-state driver) almost backed up into me, my sister, and 2 other pedestrians. The driver looked at me mouthed, "I'm sorry." I think I might have said, "Are you f*cking KIDDING me???" Then gave her a nasty glare. She wasn't looking at all.
I hate to say that this kind of thing isn't really too much of a rarity. Anyone who regularly walks the streets in NYC has probably experienced almost being ran over by a taxi or errant driver more than once but this...kinda shook me up.
Rain.
It makes people act all...weird and stuff. Be careful out there.
Love the processing and the couple. Did you take it while you were almost getting hit. Yikes. At least the person was apologetic and didn't flick you off or something. Sheesh.
Glad you're OK. Drivers everywhere seem to have very little respect for pedestrians.
@carolb - thanks! and, yes, very true - drivers everywhere have that problem.
