My coworker gave me this bottle of blue nail polish "just because". I'm not normally into trendy colors (or trendy anything -- in fact, my lil sis once told me that I'm not "fashion risky" lol) but I thought it was nice of her and the color was out of my comfort zone so I thought I would try it.
Another coworker today randomly presented me with a whole mango.
Ummm. Because he thought I looked like I wanted a mango...? I dunno. Both were sweet gestures.
But that's not the weird stuff. In the past 460+ pics of my project, here and there, I have alluded to the fact that I'm a mental health provider for a population of schizophrenics, personality disorders, and generally chronically mentally ill people. And while I can't really talk at all about work, lemme just tell you... Shit be cray-cray.
Like, a fucking circus.
Never a boring day. I have a lot of tough days and shitty days...but I actually love it.
But...man, sometimes I can't even wrap my head around the stuff I hear or see. Or smell. (Oh lord don't ask.)
What's the weirdest thing you've seen or done at work? I think I may be able to top it... Maybe not.
Like the blue fingernails. No memories of "weird" events in my working history. I have a pretty wide range of "normal" so it has to be totally out there for me to consider it "weird".
My job is not so crazy, just drives me a little nuts. I don't paint my fingernails as it chips in a day, but I do my toes and I wear blues maybe half of the time. I wasn't into blue myself as I thought it made me look cold and dead, but hubby likes it. Hmmm....
@fauxtography365 blue is my favorite color. One weird thing that happened at school though, was when a girl yelled " I'm not wearing any underwear today." Her faced turned red and she ran out the door. I felt bad for her.
@tonydebont I have a pretty wide range of normal too... Kinda have to in my line of work... Glad you like the blue fingernails! Am afraid that it makes me look like I'm trying to be young and 17 lol. None of which I am.
@amandal I've yet to try this color on my toes. But I think I will stick to red or pink for toes. One time a pedicurist told me that whenever women are undecided about a color for the toes, she suggests red. She said that in her experience doing many women's pedicures over 20 years, that most women report that the men in their lives dig the red. But I think it's nice to experiment :). My husband prefers the more traditional colors or none at all.
@d_lopes blue is one of my favorite colors too. As for no underwear girl at your school... Lol sometimes there's such a thing called TMI. I mean, there's a time and place for that kind of "confession". School isn't it. Haha.
The craziest things I have ever seen is some random couple doing the wild thing in the work car park at night, and two guys I (used to) work with inspecting each others equipment up in the pallet racking, lol.
@tomtom lol! Oh, Andrew...that's a whole other topic -- kinky things i've seen others do ( or maybe even done myself maybe? shhh!!) at work...but I don't think this is the forum for that....
I wonder how one looks when they want a mango?! Weird, just the fact of life, now that I have trouble wrapping my head around, so I don't try!
All it's ups and downs, quirkiness, weirdness, loves, disappointments, all of it is so grand. Wow how cool it is; Life is to be lived .
It's not a bad color at all.
