Standing resplendent in the grounds of St Mary's Church, Dover, is a huge flowering cherry tree. The branches extend the width of the churchyard, and fallen petals form drifts along the adjacent pavement. I wish this picture could have done it justice, I simply could not fit the whole tree in the frame.
But it is right that you cannot show the whole tree, it would be diminished.. by not showing the edges it gives the feeling of extending much much further than the eye/photo can see..
it is a magnificent tree, i love the twisted trunk - it's got loads of patterns and photos in it.. :-) the amount of blossom is phenomenal and gorgeous too.. excellently done..
Love this one. You have done it justice. You definitely didn't need the whole tree. You have set us under the wonderful canopy surrounded by blossom above and below.
@brennieb Thanks so much! @jessikapanteleios Thanks very much for your comments, the blossom really is phenomenal. @jorlam Thank you for such encouragement. All it needed was a bride and groom underneath having their picture taken - I hope someone is lucky before the blossoms fade. @jclaireyp@hermann@scillygirl Thanks very much indeed! @ivan@royrj Thanks very much, your comments are very appreciated.
