Yesterday Catherine Otley, friend and fellow 365er, and I visited Fredville Park at Nonington to see the above.
Her name is 'Majesty' and she's listed in the Guinness Book of Records as being the largest living maiden oak tree in the UK. Apparently 15 men can stand around her trunk. She is completely hollow inside and it is believed by some she could be as old as 1,000 years.
@bigmxx@pyrrhula@megpicatilly Thanks very much, she really is huge!!! @alijchapman Thanks a lot Ali - lovely comment but she's so wide I wouldn't know where to start!
@radiogirl@jessikapanteleios@dawnee@jerome@haskar Thank you all so much for your comments - it is so difficult to portray the size of her in a picture but am very pleased you liked her. I thought she was wonderful:)
