Evening clouds

I was too late for this evening's sunset but took this picture of the clouds above it instead. I'd never seen anything like it before so this is my project entry for today. To me it looked rather like the spine of a prehistoric beast but then I always did have a very active imagination!
Kelvin-Hemholtz clouds?

@cmsch52 I am so impressed Carol - I hoped someone here might know and there you were within a minute or so. You are knowledgeable! I Googled your answer and it does look very much as if it is, so thank you, no dinosaurs after all:)

@suzanne234 Thanks Suzanne, this was sooc (apart from using eraser tool to remove dust marks on sensor which I always have to do).

A big scary beastie flying along to get you..
Love the Kelvin-Hemholtz cloud formation, absolutely fabulous.. the shape of the clouds is echoed by the trees too.. a very impressive and dramatic image.. it was well worth missing the sunset to photograph this instead.. although there are still some lovely colours peeping out from under the cloud formation.

This looks so dramatic on black! Awesome layer of colour between the dark foreground and clouds.
And yes, the clouds do look like a giant spine!
