The Turn of the Tide by fbailey

The Turn of the Tide

I missed the high water mark by about half an hour today, but the waves were still pretty dramatic - those white horses were galloping this afternoon! I got wet, the camera got wet but it was great fun.
I love the collage! All the photos are awesome. High tide is in about an hour and a half here and expecting 30’ and higher swells... I just need to find a spot where I won’t be washed away.

Such a nicely composed collage - and the images tie together well - but the one with the sculpture is such a stand-out!

@lyndamcg It was taken at Sunny Sands beach at Folkestone in Kent. No sand was visible at all yesterday! The Little Mermaid is one of the art exhibits from a previous Folkestone Triennial.

Fabulous collage. I just love the sea, especially when it is rough like that. Glad you kept safe even though wet. I still haven't found the carpet piece I lost to the sea the other week - doubtless it is gone forever :)))

@alijchapman Hi Ali, the Little Mermaid statue was part of a previous Folkestone Triennial, and is modelled on a local lady. I did get some shots of the waves trying to wash her away but the statue is barely visible in them. It's a lovely landmark.

Nice splashes. Big waves, despite the water not looking particularly rough. I guess it comes from high tide?
