I went to Folkestone this evening to try and take some blue hour shots for my Get Pushed challenge this week and before I realised what had happened, darkness had fallen. It's all I have for today so a night shot of Folkestone at low tide it is.
I think you are at the very edge of it Felicity- the sky is a really nice deep blue. If I remember the definition correctly- it's not really an hour, it's the time just after the sun goes below the horizon and before the sky totally loses color from it (about a 40 minute time frame). So I'm going to say you got your blue hour shot here!
@olivetreeann Thanks very much Anne - I did play about with the exposure on this though. My settings were very much Guess and Press:( Post processing to give definition to the skyline was involved.
Fits with Ross' theme this week of night shots! You could tag it for theme-night if you wanted.
I have been surprised at how early the sunsets are now, but then I guess we are only a month away from the equinox, so I shouldn't be.
pity you missed the blue hour felicity
Btw: The weekly theme is 'night'.
