Mixed Backgrounds

I've been meaning to try this for months and finally got around to it this afternoon. I can thoroughly recommend it for being a fantastic time filler - the last occasion I spent this long with a casserole dish I had something edible to show for it ...
Oh love your narrative!! It is fun isn't it, I made the kitchen out of bounds to all, including the cat.

Fabulous oil and water refraction

I love your color combination and the bubbles are perfect....all sizes, some focused, some blurry. I think you did this well. I keep thinking I’m going to give this a try as well.

Always fun creating these shots. Last time I did this it ended up with a shopping list to ikea 😆 and since buying bowls and even a glass top table haven’t got round to doing the shots ...... maybe tomorrow :-)

Looks great. Do you have any technique tips?

@peadar Don't use a sheet of Perspex, it bends and the water runs onto the floor. Try to use a clean casserole dish (mine wasn't!). If you have a dog, try to stop her walking through the two stools that you're balancing your Perspex/clean glass dish on as not only will your oil and water be in danger, so will the legs of your tripod and your camera may have to be rescued from getting wet ... hope this helps!

I'm going to have to return to this - as my last attempt to do something like this was very disappointing. Yours, on the other hand, has worked a treat. Love those top tips above.
