Playing catch up here with the One Week Only challenge, theme Reflection/Mirror. Originally I was going to attempt a vortograph with my little home made bit of kit but I broke it instead so went with a single mirror surface. This is the top of a mirror box with an attempt to have the sky as a background, not the conservatory roof. I guess I could have taken it outside but I didn't think of it - then again it's breezy and the petals would not have been in the shot.
Whilst playing around with this, the poor daisy started to wilt and lose the will to go on. I was intrigued with the way the petals and their doubles seemed to float, a real giveaway it was taken using a mirror.
Sorry, am getting hopelessly behind in commenting, hope to catch up in the next day or so. Life, and in particular, a bouncy puppy, seem to have taken over ...
I thought I was the only one, who didn’t know what a vortograph is, glad I wasn’t! Maybe you can give us a little explanation, would be nice. Your effort was worth it, it came out very good!
@angelikavr@casablanca Vortograph definition: an abstract photograph made with a simple kaleidoscopic apparatus, first used by Alvin Langdon Coburn in 1917.
Basically I made mine using three small oblong mirrors fixed together to form a triangle. You frame your subject with one of the open ends of the triangle and insert your camera lens into the other open end. Hope this helps! If you Search for vortograph in 365 pictures, there are quite a few.
