This is not quite the shot I had envisaged when I embarked upon this particular photoshoot. The original intention was a composite of one of my smaller dogs looking in a mirror and seeing a reflection of a much larger tougher dog looking out. However, I had several problems with this idea!
The first obstacle was getting the dog to look away from me and at the mirror. That was overcome by smearing dog peanut butter all over the surface (what a mess that was) - it would have been better had I managed to catch a tongue, but it was not to be.
The second problem was the image in the mirror. This is a very old picture from 2010 taken of Blizzard, one of the dogs in the village. I had no means of finding this shot on my computer so had to go down another rabbit hole on the internet on how to download from another photo site I belong to. Unfortunately I was into textures at the time and the result didn't look like a mirror at all. So I compromised, made it into a picture, and tweaked the title I had in mind.
I'd forgotten how much fun Photoshop can be, and how much time you can waste on it!
I’m enjoying your photo adventures and the narratives that accompany them and of course your images are always interesting. Ok… I had no idea that there is dog peanut butter. I’ve always given my dog little bits of people PB.
A great result even if not what you planned.
