Seriously, none of us expected a shot like this from me today! Walked into school early to find that 'Safari Stu' was visiting and having a tea break but very happy to show me some of his 'little friends' while the kids were outside. Was I glad I had my little P&S to whip out of my handbag!
This beautiful little chap (who I think might be a Ambanja Chameleon) was very alarmed by my camera, and his little eye quickly rotated away. I would have loved to hold him but instead ended up close and personal with a rainbow boa who wanted to taste the camera and got too close every time.... funny how I wasn't at all bothered about a snake slithering around my arm except that I couldn't get his tongue in focus!
Had a bigger shot of this chap but I just loved the detail in his skin in this shot which is sooc except for the slight crop. Thank goodness he didn't blend into the classroom...!
By the way - anyone in Beds/Cambs might like to know that he does great kids' parties (that's Safari Stu, not the chameleon) - really nice chap and the kids think he's so cool!!
Gosh almighty I was so chuffed, and rather overwhelmed by your kind comments and faves yesterday - thank you so much for being so charmingly lovely about my Querky keyboard and all that it showed. You're the best! Have a cracking weekend :)
Oh wow! Nice shot! What a colorful chameleon! And that Boy George song just popped into my head about a chameleon! Nice.... This is really pretty! I've never seen a chameleon but I never thought they turned rainbow color! And the detail of his skin is amazing! The texture really pops! Well done, Phil! :) Fav!
Wow! What a pretty chappy! Hehe I'm imagining your coworkers shaking their heads as a snake wraps all around you and you just wave a camera around at it :)
Holy cow
