This is one of the most difficult shots I have ever done. To shoot this, while smelling it and within tasting distance was no mean feat. To keep the hungry wolves at bay was extremely tough. To choose one of the 60 shots, each depicting perfection was too tricky. A huge accomplishment, I'm sure you'll agree.
Friday cake is now a little tradition. The kids spend alternate weekends with their dad, he picks them up about tea time, which means they eat a bit later than usual. To alleviate this we have some 'Friday cake' after school. We sit around the table with a cuppa and some cake, discuss the day, the forthcoming weekend, and somehow put the week to bed. It now happens whether they go to his house or not and we rather like it :)
Thanks to all who were kind enough to call by my rather spooky graveyard shot yesterday.. I didn't feel spooked taking it but probably because I was too engrossed in taking the photo...! (Then again I wasn't too scared with a boa slithering over me or a large spider cm away.. perhaps the camera is a psychological shield...)
Have a wonderful weekend full of safe adventures, cosy times and marvellous sights :) x
Friday is the best day to do this!! Oh just looked out of the window we now have snow!!........when i was in your situation Sunday was always the special day!......lovely shot, reminds me of Peter's market day shots!!
What a GREAT tradition to start! It is fun to get on here and hear all these little things that people do that weave together to make this ride called " life." So many interesting things! Great ONS4 shot!
Okay .... now I want cake!! Great tradition. I love that you and your kids are close. It's important to have that connection. Don't ever lose it. Well done, Phil! :)
I love how you have made a happy and comforting tradition out of what could be an awkward time! And bravo for keeping those wolves at bay!!! and a huge thank you for all the visits and comments yesterday on my pics.....I truly appreciate the time and effort that it took. :-)
@bobfoto I said it was a tough shot...! (They were all very quick shots)
BTW George's Dad had an SLR with all sorts of lenses which he gave to George when he upgraded to a DSLR... I bought my DSLR from ebay to fit the lenses. Today I had a dig in the bag and out came an enormous long lens that weighs a ton and sort of goes in and out like a trombone...! So yes I 'found' a zoom lens.. :)
