Well we had driven from the south-east to the north-west and the west coast to the east coast, up through valleys and mountains, sunshine and rain, and now we had to hand back the campervan. If my numbers come up I'll buy one of my own.
I just couldn't leave the Highlands behind just yet so although the light was fading, I drove back 'only 10 minutes' (which turned out to be 30) to have a look at Loch Tummel just north of Pitlochry. Apparently Queen Victoria enjoyed this view but it was probably named for Isabella, the wife of Robert the Bruce. I loved it too. Not often I drive an hour's round trip for a 5-minute photo opp, but I'm glad I did.
Next stop was Edinburgh and something nearer 21st century civilisation, but my eyes were on my rear-view mirror and the line of mountains on the horizon as they slowly got further away.....
Bless you all for calling by to see my little offerings, you're all smashing and darned good looking too!
Stunning view well worth the detour!! The holiday sounds wonderful just what I would love to do. I have always wanted a campervan and wanted to hire one but they don't allow dogs. I had better do the lottery too!!
