.... Surreal but Lovely Minutes!
Mindful of Cathy's comment that we planned to spend a lot of time looking at Paris' past I decided a bit of modern-day retail therapy was in order. Where else to start but the bustling Galeries Lafayette on the Blvd Haussmann. Such a beautiful store, under a wondrous stained glass dome (let me find a space and I'll show you) but so hot and claustrophobic our poor feet could barely cope as we climbed up floor after floor. What a surprise the top floor turned out to be! Fake grass and plastic armchairs showing just about the best view of Opera and the Parisien skyline. You can see how bright it was and can only imagine how welcome it was to sit back, take the weight off our feet and close our eyes....!
