... well once the fire had died down I remembered how to do the long exposure (15 seconds) and lay down on the bench with the camera next to me. Got a few dots of white and Laddie the cat was well amused.
Anyway - came inside for a better look and all I could see was a couple of white dots. Then I clicked by accident on the cinemascope tab and look what happened!! I had no idea I had picked up the roof, the satellite dish, the tree,... nor all those stars! (Many more than I could see with the naked eye) I guess the 'cinemascope' effect not only stretches it but brightens it hugely and adds a sepia tone?! Amazing - and a happy accident.
great accident so much detail from that long exposure

Cool shot. The roof and things frame the stars nicely.

Cool shot. It's amazing what the camera can capture when it appears to be dark.

Isn't it cool what the camera picks up and you don't know it? Like when I took a picture of Orion the Hunter just for S&Gs and not really thinking it would come out but then I got all the other stars in the sky too! This is really great! I love it! Well done!
