You can also have complete freedom to attribute metaphorical significance to the implements (or not). I found it interesting that the more positive emotions led to open left hand, whereas the more negative emotions led to closed fists. That was not a planned detail.

you are right about the hands' position or 'reaction' to positive and negative. i've observed that quite a while ago and wondered if it was true with everybody or most people. certainly was with my sister and niece and one co-worker when I tried my experiment. hmmmm....has there been a study published on this?
@kali66 interesting thing: I showed this to a couple of my boys and they both said I was clearly in a good mood for all of them (which is, in fact, true). They could see right through the pictures
You certainly had fun with this- I think it shows through even in the "negative" pictures. I can't pull them off either. Perhaps the next series will also include food you like and dislike (o; !!
@summerfield and @francoise Just sit there and try making an angry face while holding open hands! Impossible! So funny to it...as well as the opposite! Smile...clench your fists...and immediately your mouth turns down! Wow!
That is an interesting series and observations. I was trying to portray anger, one shot had a clenched fist, the other, a more open - tensed - hand. Not sure what that says.
