Queen Ann's Bloody Neck by francoise

Queen Ann's Bloody Neck

from my favorite botanical tale of childhood. Interesting that not all Queen Ann's lace flowers (wild carrot) have the bloody neck and that sometimes it is almost black. But this one was a proper red.
Color in flower has been selecged but not altered.

Have never heard of this and tried to look it up on line. Very interesting.

Very well spotted and cool capture of it. I didn't know about this feature of the flower at all.
