Nutty

Well, this picture is a bit nuts. Yes, that's the March word of the day. I thought about many types of March 365 projects (and there are a lot of great ideas floating around on 365). I also thought about many types of Lenten observances... Nothing really grabbed me, so I decided that I would just do a project that involved a little bit of writing and a little bit of editing and that I'll follow the March words of the day in whatever tangential form I can make them fit. That seems like a project I might actually carry out.

When I had thought of doing some sort of Lenten observance, all I could think of was giving up this or that. No sugar! No chocolate! No coffee! No social media! No TV! No this! No that! But I couldn't really think of any good REASON to do so. And, perhaps not coincidentally, I started off this first day of Lent accidentally sleeping in, then drinking coffee, then eating a pb&j sandwich for lunch, then scrolling through facebook, and now watching TV. So, in one day, I've gone through the entire list of potential proscribed items. And slept late. Another idea was to write every day on a particular theme. Liam (not knowing that I had been thinking about Lent) suggested "hunger" as a theme. Hmmm. But I'm just not sure that I have enough self-discipline to carry through a single theme. Or give up any indulgences. But writing something, however nutty and light (or sensible and profound), based on the word of the day seems doable.
some people don't give up but "give" for Lent. Smiling at everyone they pass on the street, not complaining in a situation that would normally make you complain, a random act of kindness every day thereby making the sacrifice a positive one instead of a negative one. It sounds like you havegfone in that direction with this month

Looking forward to follow this Lenten/March Madness/365Project over the coming weeks and wondering what's to come for Dr Seuss.

I smiled at your narrative. I thin you have made a good choice for Lent - and thank you for choosing word of the day as well!
