As I had been driving along the 16 mile yard sale route,I ended up walking by myself without the dog at the bird sanctuary where I turned around to drive home. I thought, what's to stop you from walking without a dog? It was definitely strange and I felt vaguely in a hurry or uneasy as though I were shirking my responsibilities to someone or something. I'm sure I thought deep thoughts, or at least thought about something. However, like the day of the great hornet stinging, any thought I may have had was immediately wiped away when I remembered the tomato sauce simmering back home on the stove. At that point I had been out three or four hours rather than the planned one hour and I had forgotten about the sauce. When I got home, I saw that it was fine, and, in fact, still had many hours to reduce. I still think my unease had to do with lack of dog.
What an interesting shot. I'm always intrigued by the patterns in nature. Must have been a relief to see the tomato sauce still bubbling away contentedly.
