OK, so the shiny reflective surface a few pictures ago was your piano bench. What is the black background here. I'm having trouble finding the right background.
@tunia The black background I'm using is a circular black reflector . . . my husband gave me a nifty 5 in 1 set for my birthday with black, silver, gold, white, and a diffuser. Since they are reflectors and not true background material I have to work with the shutter speed, aperture, and iso to be sure I get a completely black screen and can't see any of the wrinkles from the black reflector material. I'm going to look into getting some black muslin to use as a backdrop or black background paper that comes in rolls. As I continue experimenting with these different types of photography I come across necessary items that I need for the set-ups. I hope that helps. I know it can be very frustrating to have an idea in mind and then for whatever reason the process doesn't work out. Yesterday I had the whole water in the glass set-up ready to go, background all set, speedlite ready and when I took the first shots I realized the room was too well lit and I needed a totally dark room . . . even with the black background. I was determined to at least try the water shots so I took the entire set-up down and moved to an interior room with no windows. :-)
The way your mind is able to picture what you want before you see it absolutely amazes me - love this against the black reflector background and when viewed on black here. That blue is really beautiful! Love the way you caught the water spewing over. Well done.
