I just can't pull myself away from water photos this week . . . today I experimented with water drop photography. I've tried this in the past with absolutely no success . . . today I changed to a different drip system and used a speedlite . . . actually captured some water droplets today! SO MUCH FUN!
Beautiful. A little bit of green reflection in the drop. Thanks for the info on the black backdrop. I tried a thick fabric that showed the nap. Muslin would be better.
Beautiful - great capture on that water drop(s) - the color is terrific. You even caught a little reflection of the drop. I've had absolutely no success yet with trying this. So glad you kept trying - results are terrific. Fav
@kategoring Thank you, Kate! I viewed your water droplet photo from December 12 and it is fabulous! I just love these water images and look forward to shooting them again soon. :-)
@milaniet Thank you so much for your comments and fav, Milanie! About a month ago I tried this a couple of times - total flop! However, through those experiences I learned that I needed a better "drip" system so after reading up on it and watching several YouTube tutorials I decided to go with (this will probably sound funny to you) an IV drip bag. Very inexpensive on Amazon and WOW, did that ever make a difference in the entire shooting experience. So with that bag and a speedlite, it wasn't that difficult to actually capture some water droplets. I was actually squealing with excitement today when I saw the images on the computer because of my previous frustrating experiences. :-)
Great capture and color! I enjoyed reading your comments of your progress in achieving the shot. It's fun to experiment and rewarding when it finally happens and you get the effect you want. Keep sharing with us! fav
Sharply and beautifully captured, fav! I've found that since I started to take photographs, I've become of the many ways water, in its various forms, transforms things visually.
@tristansmum Thank you for your comment and fav, Stephanie! Your comment perfectly describes why I am fascinated with water images . . . there can be a world of beauty captured in the reflections in a single drop or the soft flowing beauty of capturing the movement of water. All visually exciting!
@pasttheirprime@snaggy Thanks for the comment, fav, and follow! You are so right . . . a speedlite is an absolute necessity for capturing water droplets. I learned that the hard way. By the way, I am thoroughly enjoying following your project! :-)
