These two had a comical encounter today. I have been trying to get some squirrel shots all summer with no success. Finally today a couple were brave enough to come quite close for sunflower seeds and peanuts. I thought I was keeping Chippy busy and out of the way with his own treats right next to me...that turned out to be wishful thinking. I was clicking away, getting some close-up shots of this squirrel and without me realizing what was happening, Chippy ran over and jumped up on the stump as if he intended to scare away the intruder. He ended up under the squirrel and then they both ran off, sunflower seeds flying everywhere. My first thought...thanks a lot for ruining my squirrel shots, Chippy. :-)
After everything settled down I did get some nice squirrel shots...I'll post one of those tomorrow. Since I've shared several of my Chippy photos this summer, I thought this shot, although a bit blurry, was too funny to pass up.
This is hysterical - I love it! You know Chippy was just trying to protect his territory - may be a while before you get the squirrel back close. Love the shot and story.
