Not All Pumpkins Are Orange

The word "pumpkin" usually brings to mind a vibrant orange color but I learned recently that pumpkin varieties have expanded to include shades of red, pink, green, tan, white, and blue.
Great one, stands out among the orange crowd!

I only ever knew the blue variety when I was growing up. Then a few different types like jap and butternut.Only since Halloween has become big in Australia are the orange varieties becoming popular.

A nice contrast to the usual colours, nice comparison.

This one not quite so elegant in shape as the others but a lovely contrast to make the photo. We saw lots on our travels in USA - obviously.

@365projectorgjenfurj @gilbertwood It's so interesting to learn that orange pumpkins are not that common in Australia! One of the things I love about this project is learning so much about different places. :-)

Love your POV! We usually have some white ones in the grocery stores here.

we in Australia know this one as the Queensland Blue and was the only one we had when I was a child. I love pumpkin, especially Butternut

Yep! I discovered "blue" pumpkins when we went to Australia, and I was able to grow them in the yard the following year! Who doesn't love variety?!
