There were around 20 house finches in the trees and making visits to the feeder in my brother-in-law's backyard today...a few cardinals, chickadees, and sparrows but mostly house finches. I was amazed at how many there were throughout the day, even when it started snowing hard for about an hour.
We're leaving for the airport tomorrow morning around 5:00 a.m. for our flight back to San Antonio. I can't believe our visit here in Ontario is already coming to an end. :-(
These look so wonderful with the falling snow Gayle. I think you have a great Christmas card for next year here. I trust you have had a good trip, and safe travels home.
@jamibann Thanks so much, Issi! Yes, this recent visit to Canada was cut way too short because my husband is teaching again this year and since he goes back to school January 2nd, we wanted to give him a couple of days at home to relax before heading back for the second half of the school year. He has been retired from teaching for three years but his old principal offered him a position for this year teaching some of his favorite courses and he decided to go for it. :-)
Love your photo, and your final paragraph is going to be identical to our day tomorrow! Well, we don't have to get up *quite* that early!!! I'm wondering how much snow we'll have overnight...could be a game-changer! We'll head from Boston to Dallas en route, so hopefully "out of the snow"! Happy New Year, m'friend!
@gaylewood Well, good for him! I think I mentioned before that we're in the throes of doing the opposite. My hubby has opted for early retirement - and I'm not at all sure if I'm happy about that idea! Time will tell ;-)
