Taking a Break

Resting area along the skating/walking trail on the frozen Red River
Looks like it rotates so it always faces the wind. Uh... Art?

@fotoblah Yes! Very observant! They're called Warming Huts and every year for this winter park event they have what is called Warming Huts: An Art + Architecture Competition on Ice. The Manitoba Association of Architects invites architects from all over the world to submit proposals for these warming huts. They are built out of everything from snow, to rebar, to frozen fabric, to steel. They are quite interesting and a welcome resting spot along the 1.2 kilometers of skating/walking trails.

@colleenculhane Thank you, Colleen. It is all so different from San Antonio that I'm going a bit crazy with the snow. :-)
