We have a splendid little outdoor porch on the second floor with a huge Sentry Maple reaching overhead to shade most of it. As you can see, Elsie finds it perfect for napping. After 8 months of her being cooped up inside, you can't imagine how much it means to me to see her out there happy and free, with nothing to come between her and a summer breeze.
Greetings! I'm from Connecticut (USA) Photography is one of my lifelong passions (others including gardening, woodworking, history, and being a part...
@brumbe Well Paula, I may just have to agree with you there. Her contentment is matched only by my joy at seeing her that way. The other thing I noticed on her first day out there was how much prettier she is in natural lighting (if being prettier is even possible.) Be well, Les
@deens Hello Nadine, and thank you sooo much for the fav,as well as the sweet comment. We appreciate it, and it is the highest of compliments. Speaking of compliments, congratulations on making the Top 20! I must say, I'm not surpised to see you there, the photo is heavenly! Be very well, Les
@cath Helloooo Cath - I must tell you that seeing your comment had me feeling just tremendous! I was dragging my butt not wanting to go to my part time job, and was thinking of blowing it off. Then I saw your comments along with the others, and I was exuberant. We thank you so very much, and hope that you are well (and warm!) Les x
@maggie2 Hiya Maggie, and we thank you for such a generous comment. ( She's getting rather full of herself after I told her that she's been viewed more than any other of my photos, and was fav'd 3 times!) Hope you are well, Les
@snipsnap Hello Ramona, and thanks for taking the time to leave us a welcome comment. I just haven't had time this last week to check in on people's work, but after I received a new follower, I had to take a quick look at YOUR work. I can't wait to go back to it; it's great. I especially love the photos of the kitties, and your florals are beautiful with such lush, verdant green in them, and the Dragonflies -super! Be well, and see you soon, Les
@nicolecampbell We thank you very much, Nicole, and yes, she is in her bliss dozing out on the porch like this. Other times, she is an absolute blurr tearing around the house. Last month she turned 5 yrs, and has been with me for just over 4. I brought her home from a shelter; they called her a "special needs" kitty. When I saw her at 10 months, she had bee raised in a cage in a foster home, and had already been taken home, and returned TWICE because she was so unmanageable --a real Wild Child. Well, if anyone can turn a kid or an animal around, it's me, so home she came. All is well with her, she just needed everything to unfold in her own time frame. Goodness only knows what she has experienced, but she is STILL not comfortable being picked up, and her startle response is off the charts! But she trusted me from the very day, has never even attempted to bite or scratch, and is now quite chummy with visitors. During our quiet evenings she's next to me on the couch, and is achingly affectionate. Bedtime mostly finds her next to my head, and the last thing I hear before falling to sleep is her contented, shallow purr resonating through my pillow. That's my little girl.....thanks for asking. I bet you weren't expecting a narrative! Hope to see more of Mia; very pretty name, by the way. So very nice to meet you, Nicole, Les
