Caribbean Blue by glimpses

Caribbean Blue

Taken from Nevis in the Leeward Islands (West Indies.) The ship in the background is the Polynesia, and I sailed on her for 2 unforgettable weeks. I never wanted to come home, and was perilously close to taking the crew job that was offered to me. But I had to be sensible; I had a new teaching post waiting for me. (sigh)
(From the "archives"; some HDR fun.)
Wonderful photo Les. I spent two weeks in Jamaica many years ago and it was such an exotic and fun place to visit, I loved it.

@kimmiesue Hi Hi Hi! So excellent to hear from you Kim. And yes it was memorable, including the part where I the ship's carpenter and were totally taken with other, became instant, dear friends, and wrote each other for many years afterwards. And thank you, I am doing really well; things are pretty much back to normal, my hand is doing great, and my thumb continues to improve. Have a lovely week, Les x

@nicolecampbell So you know how entrancing a place like that can be.........I left out the part where I sort of "fell for" with Wil, the ship's carpenter, or more exactly, HE fell in love with me, and I was "the one he'd been waiting for. :-D (heart going pitter pat right now.) We wrote for several years atfterwards, but I never went back. (heavy sigh) (Oh me, oh my......"girl talk" on "365"! LOL) See ya, Les xx

@mwarren365 Thank you muchly Mike, and yes, I was an excellent sailor...........actually took 2 hour posts at night at her helm........a massive, and gorgeous wheel (that reached my shoulders :-D) With full, tight sails, I sometimes needed help turning the wheel! Take care, Les

@lbmcshutter It sure was memorable.........I loved the laid back way of life there Megan. I'm sure you've been to places where "time" has a whole different meaning; it's something to savor, not follow by the hour. And Wil, well I still read his letters every great once and a while, and can't help but wonder what what my life would be like if I threw "sensible" out the window, and stayed. (smiling and sighing) Take care, Les x
