These tiny wildflowers were the LAST thing I thought I'd be photographing when I headed out Wed. with the theme in mind. No bigger than my thumbnail, and blooming happily in a sidewalk crack, they were a delightful surprise. It's still winter here, but the temp was 58F, (15C) and the next day (Thursday) - it snowed!
(I'm pretty sure this Alpine Quill which grows in huge swaths, even forming fields, and is naturally occuring at the snowline of mountains here in the U.S and in Europe.)
