The Watchful Eye by glimpses

The Watchful Eye

Some of you already know that I have a "thing" for eyes, and that's what I like best about this photo. The reflection includes the sky and a giant Spruce tree; all in that tiny, black, shiney orb.
(Note: I made a small crop off the bottom, added white matte and frame.)
Great close up shot Les. Did you use your macro or did he let you get super close? That is a wonderful reflection in the eye also.

@nicolecampbell Thank you very much Nic. Both: Super close, super zoom. I've been visiting them for a couple of weeks at the end of the day when they fly in from somewhere else. I walk around, stop, crouch, talk to them, introduced them to my camera, (to get them used to that big "eye"/ lens staring at them) and move closer a bit at a time. Now they are really used to me to me. :-) Hope you had a grand weekend, Les x

@hudd Many thanks Hudd.......Don't you just love it when everything you could want is there for a great photo? :-) I've been visiting these guys for a couple of weeks to "sensitize" them to me and my movements, and my camera. Most are now quite comfortable in my presence. This was the first day I took any shots; more to come.........All my best best, Les

@lbmcshutter Thank you Megan - This handsome fellow is sort of special. He has a "lady", and he is ever-present beside her. (I've been wakling to the pond for a couple of weeks and getting the Geese and Ducks used to me being there so I can get in close for photos.) He is sooo attentive and protective. He never eats when she does, but takes this "sentinal" pose, and is quick to mildy warn away any other Geese coming too close. This was the first day I took any photos. He let me gently talk my way very close to them (on land.) Gee, maybe I'm a "Goose Whisperer" LOL Take care, Les x

@kmrtn6 Lots of thanks Kylie..........This flock is a wild one that I've been visiting at a pond for a couple of weeks; they're used to me now so I can get in real close. I think they may even be a little curious about me. :-)) I love to listen to all the funny sounds they make. Have a sewll day, Les

Hi Les, thanks for the follow; I'm pleased to return it after looking through your lovely calendar. This one especially is a beauty. Love the reflections in that eye and the great dof as well.
