She turns 11 yrs at month's end. I brought her home from a shelter when she was 9 mos. She was labeled a "special needs" kitten because she was sooo wild and unmanageable that she had already been brought home and returned TWICE. That didn't put me off; that's not what I saw in her when I looked in her eyes. Besides, she picked me; how could I refuse. Now, she is splendidly content, and achingly affectionate. She is a very dear companion, and my best friend.

Such a truly heartwarming story. You have been lucky to have each other! We have a stray who adopted us, then she had 4 kittens 6 months ago and we still have 3 of them. Haven't found people who want them, but my husband thinks 4 cats are way too many! I will never take them to the shelter no matter what!
