Our son gave this to us after he came back from a tour of duty in Germany a few years ago. My parents have one that my brother gave them when HE came back from Germany and our children like that THEIR children will grow up hearing a cuckoo clock at their grandparents house as they did.

Nice shot of the clock... the colors and carvings are great! I think there is some confusion between your clock and your camera though, because the clock appears to say 4:00 and the time under the details of the photos says 3:04. :)
And my grandmother had one just like this!! Funny story: As she got older she really started to dislike that cuckoo bird chirp. One day she got the broom and hit the chirpping bird really hard and it's been hanging out the door (kinda dead) ever since. Great shot, Katy. Instant memory for me!
This is too funny. I have a coo coo clock & toward the beginning of the project in December it was my plan to catch the bird while he was coo coo-ing. Well I waited patiently with my camera for a long time & it never happened - my husband had the coo coo turned off.
I like the cuckoo clock. they are very fine tuned clocks and so rich looking..we never had one when I was child..I guess they are better known in the South of Germany..I came from the North.
@marilyn Thank you! I should have know you would notice and as I was shooting it I hoped no one would or wondered what they would think. I had it set up perfectly on manual....shutter speed, f/stop, ISO, zoom, focus... and originally wanted to try the pendulum for tick tock. I noticed it was almost three so decided to wait for the cuckoo. For the theme even BETTER! I thought. He came out.......I pushed the button...... nothing happened ....what the heck?! I had pushed the power button!!!! Needed to leave in a few minutes for the rest of the night with various activities and this is my last shot for the day. What to do?! Hmmmm. *light bulb goes off in head* Set the clock ahead and shoot it again. NO ONE WILL KNOW!!! wrong ;~} (U) LOL!!!
@bruni That is so funny to me that you never had one. I thought EVERYONE in Germany had one! I don't like the older traditional design but I really like the look of this one.
