Way Up There by grammyn

Way Up There

There is a little park in town called the Wilderness Park and there is lots of bamboo growing there. It grows very tall.
Woah! This is fantastic.
Looks like quite the jungle.

This is great- it makes the viewer feel quite minuscule.
January 28th, 2012
Very effective shot, Katy! I feel as thought I'm standing under the trees and craning my neck upward.
January 28th, 2012
@sarabryan Thanks,Sara. I live in Alabama and it seems strange to find this here.
January 28th, 2012
@jennwearing I thank you. I really don't know how high they grow.
January 28th, 2012
@debsphotos Thanks, Debbie. That is exactly how I took the shot! ;~}

Great capture! We have some bamboo here and it can be a little tricky but you did a great job.
January 29th, 2012
I love the perspective!

Deb
Wow, your perspective makes it look like this bamboo is extremely tall. I didn't think they grew very tall.
January 29th, 2012
@hankinsphoto Thanks so much, Steve I appreciate it.
January 29th, 2012
@trumpetman ;~} I am glad you like it Mike! Thanks.
January 29th, 2012
@maggotx LOL! Well they might be as tall but they definitely lack the girth! Thanks,Mag.
January 29th, 2012
@debbim Thanks you so much , Debbi. I appreciate it.
January 29th, 2012
@deburahiru Thanks,Deb. They were probably 50 or 60 feet high. I was standing up when I took the shot.
January 29th, 2012
Awesome photo. Beautiful bamboo that grew so tall. Wow, you were standing up when you took this photo. I thought you were probably laying on the ground. You were sure there at the right time as the sun is so even on this bamboo. Fav

January 29th, 2012

January 29th, 2012
Very, very cool!!
January 29th, 2012
Wow, you can get dizzy just looking up. The single strong trunk makes the photo with the others adding to the perspective. This would be a good exercise to return to at different times of the year and under different lighting conditions.
January 29th, 2012
@nyusha Thanks so much. I didn't know how well it would turn out.
January 29th, 2012
@flyboy Thanks, Ragtop. I really appreciate your comments and suggestion. If I can remember where this particular shoot was I just may do it!
January 29th, 2012
Instant fav! OMG. I love the angle and how that one tree's "trunk" is in our faces! Seems like I will think "I need to take a pic of ________" and then after that, you DO! I pass this stand of bamboo on my way home, but not sure if it is private property..probably is. But I figured it would make a cool shot. This is great! Love love love it!
January 29th, 2012
@espyetta LOL!! Holy cow, Girl. I really appreciate your enthusiasm! I wondered where I was getting my inspiration. Thanks for telepathing that to me! ;~} I can't wait to see yours which will probably be even better . I especially appreciate the FAV. Thanks so much , Mary Beth.
January 29th, 2012
wow...I didn't know bamboo grew that tall.....would like to see this on a windy day
January 29th, 2012
@jayberg ;~| They really sway a lot. Maybe I can catch it sometime for you!
January 29th, 2012
@grammyn Haha.....I'd like to take credit for that, but alas, no can do! It is all yours! And I probably can't get near the bamboo I see....I will have to check it out but think it is private property. I don't think it is as big as yours and I also think there may be no way to walk through it...too dense. But I am curious now....so will find out.

I've seen these trees and was amazed of their height..took this angle angle and tried to get a picture of a green parakeet up there in the crown. only with my small p/s pocket size camera you could hardly see the bird...love the light coming through the tree that y ou shot from the same angle..turned out fantastic.
January 29th, 2012
@espyetta If there is a way I know you will do it and it will be fabulous!.
January 29th, 2012
