We had a huge line of serious thunderstorms move through this afternoon and this dog, who is petrified of them, felt he would be safe if he were under this chair
Shadow, our Border Collie, always does the same thing when there are storms, or any loud noises, about.
Your capture is marvelous! You must have got down on your knees for this one! It is always worth doing!
@farmreporter thank you, Wendy. I think I was lying on the sofa @louannwarren thank you I do too @mcsiegle LOL! Now I want to see a picture of that! @myhrhelper this one very often will hide in the bathroom in the basement as well @wyomingsis you know I was loving it. @madamelucy The storms did not last too long and he was OK. I have seen him in worse shape than this. He very often hides in the bathroom @ludwigsdiana thank you he does struggle with it. @monikozi it does make me feel bad m @kjarn it is sad. @wakelys I think he was @30pics4jackiesdiamond we get a lot of storms here so I would think he would be used to it by now but he isn’t @joansmor it’s so sad isn’t it?
@pamknowler you would think a hunting dog would not be that afraid wouldn’t you? @randystreat it was definitely nervous and might have been sad as well. @lesip it’s kind of sad to not be able to comfort him and let him know that it’s all gonna be OK. @tunia he definitely did but even that doesn’t help when the thunder is continuing
now that's funny. The other dog I knew who was terrified of thunderstorms looked EXACTLY like this fellow. An he would stick his head under a little table while the rest of his body stuck out. He unfortunately taught the other dogs to fear the storms (after they died, they didn't feel the need to keep them, however).
@francoise That sounds exactly like something this dog would do! And how odd to know that he has done the same thing yours did. He taught our other two dogs to be afraid. They didn’t used to be until they saw him cowering.
@mccarth1 I feel the same way. It would be nice to be able to comfort them and aside from just petting them or holding them there’s not much I can ever think of. @eudora It is frustrating to not be able to make it better for them
