oh how lovely! I think a lot of them might be flooded gums by the looks. @louannwarren The bark dries and darkens and then peels off in summer. When the trees get really big (like these) it's common that the bark doesn't manage to quite peel all the way to the ground. You can see all the gorgeous bark peel on the ground forming fantastic understorey litter for so many animals and insects - fabulous!
