Skagway Reservoir by harbie

Skagway Reservoir

Skagway Reservoir is near Victor, Colorado and is a great place to hike and fish. There are ruins of the old Skagway Power Plant one can search for in the area. It was built in 1899 and operated until 1965 when a flood damaged it. It provided power to the Cripple Creek and Victor mining districts. Searching for the ruins was something my boys always wanted to do. A couple of years ago they backpacked into the area and did find it. It is overgrown and you have to really search. They were so happy when they found it. It was a check off of their bucket lists!
Reservoirs always have such great settings. Love the reflections and the blue of the distant hills
