Many times when you are driving by large open areas you come across the Pronghorns grazing. I always think the Pronghorn are Antelope, but they are their own species. This group was grazing on cattle ranch land with a herd of cattle not far off. I am always excited to see them. Thank you for viewing!!
When I first looked at your picture, I thought antelope like I used to see when we drove through New Mexico on the way to Colorado. These look a little larger though - are they larger? Used to count how many I could spot between Dumas, Texas and Raton.
@milaniet My kids studied this in school and we have looked it up in the past, but there are no true antelope in the US...only pronghorn. We all call them antelope because they look like them but they are really pronghorn. It's funny because years ago when my children were in elementary school they came home with this info and were surprised because their school was called Antelope Trails! ;)!
