Sunny Daffodil by harbie

Sunny Daffodil

These are the daffodils I planted around my mailbox. I love daffodils and am soooo happy the deer do not like to eat them (they LOVE tulips)!!! Thank you for viewing.

It's funny that a deer could be so fussy with what they eat!

Absolutely beautiful! I'm so happy to learn that the deer don't like daffodils, I'll definitely have to plant some. I've had good luck with the deer not eating Lantana and Esperanza . . . I have to use deer repellent stakes for just about everything else. :-(

@gaylewood Thanks so much, Gayle! Do the deer repellent stakes work? I haven't seen those. Last year I sprayed all the plants but after awhile the deer would eat all my roses anyway. This year I am trying the crystals on the ground. I will have to look for the stakes. I love the deer but I love my flowers too!

@harbie I bought the stakes at Lowe's and yes, they work for me. There's information on the package about the amount of time they will work before needing to be replaced. The stakes I've used here in Texas and at our cottage in Canada I've used blood meal to keep the deer away. It's such a dilemma because like you, I love the deer coming around regularly but it's so frustrating to spend time planting beautiful flowers around the yard and come out the next morning and they're all nibbled away. :-)

@gaylewood my neighbor orders chicken feathers called meal (I think) and he says that works fairly well. :)
