Garter Snake Buddies Sunning

I was really surprised when I put this on the computer and saw two heads and eyes. I thought there was only one snake on our bush. We have a lot of garter snakes in our yard because we have 3 rock walls where they love to live. When it is sunny, they come out and bask in the sun. My son found one years ago and put it in the rock wall. They have multiplied and love living there. I do not mind snakes, but they occasionally scare me when I am gardening and not expecting something to slither by! Thank you so much for putting "Pretty in Pink" on the TP and PP! :) Best on black.
I'm so glad they aren't in our yard. I've never been a snake enthusiast. However, after our son begged and begged for a snake (he was about 8!!), we gave in. It was the start of something. He ended up with several, garter snakes among them, in LOCKED "aquariums' (or whatever they call snake cages) and had them for years...... And when his son, then also about 8, started asking for a snake, Keith wouldn't let him. I thought Keith was going to kill us when we revealed to his son that Dad had snakes when he was your age!!! Oh well!!

@aglennc. That is so funny...how things change! My youngest son always wanted a snake for a pet so we compromised on lizards. At one time we had 7. We still have one that is 15 years old. My son has been on his own for 6 years now but guess who has the lizard? LOL...actually, I like the lizard (leopard gecko) a lot!.

@harbie @harbie Oh, that is a familiar story... I guess we just "ask" to "inherit" our kids pets!! It's a generational thing at our home. When I was in college I sent a cat who had been mistreated home to my parents -- five hours away -- with a friend. I had tried to call my parents to tel them he was coming but didn't get them. (The famiy already had a cat.) That cat lived another 15 years with my family, long after I was out of school and married. Fast forward about 25 years when our daughter was in college. She rescued a dog she witnessed being mistreated and drove down from school -- two hours away -- to present him to us. (We already had a dog!) That dog was with us for, yes, 15 years, long after she was out of school, had a career, and was married. And he was one of best dogs we have ever had. Still miss him. Several years ago our granddaughter had a cat she couldn't keep. Our son and daughter in law -- guess what -- inherited her
