My son, Kevin, leaves for Antarctica on Saturday for 4 1/2 months. He stopped home for a few days before he flies out. This is his second year as a polar engineer for a seismic research group that is based out of New Mexico Tech in Socorro, NM. He is not able to come home for Christmas (it is summer in Antarctica) so we celebrated early. We had a small Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and he opened his presents afterwards. It was a nice night. It was even snowing out (believe it or not...it was 84 deg the day before...that's CO). Left to right is son, Kevin, daughter, Annie, foreign exchange student, Romi, and husband, Larry. The rest of the family will be traveling home for Christmas! Thanks so much for stopping by.
Lovely family photo. Good luck to your son!
Nice to have a foreign exchange student staying with you. We had two students (long ago); they were from Finland and Kenya.
So wonderful that you could have a celebration now since Kevin won't be home for Christmas! His job sounds quite exciting! I can't believe it's actually snowing there!! This is a lovely family photo, Harbie! :-)
Good luck to Kevin on his 'adventure'...... you must feel very proud of your children's achievements Harbie
