This is my favorite ornament. It is 23 years old. Every time we hang it on the tree, we laugh and reminisce. My daughter, Lauren (now 27 yrs), made this in preschool when she was 4 out of a pipe cleaner and soft Lifesavers. My son, Kevin (who was 2 and is now 25), took it off the tree when no one was looking and took some good bites out of it. I hang this ornament every year! It puts a big smile on my face! :) Looks better on black.
It's wonderful on black - and I love those with such warm stories behind them. I hang one each year that my daughter made in Girl Scouts (she's now 56) and the little fuzzy balls are still surviving. Fav
Great story and very cute kiddo's creative ornament. My favorite ornament (my son made it in first grade; he's 52 now!) broke last year when I took it off the tree..... Couldn't be fixed. I miss it this year. Guess Illl have to upgrade my 2nd most favorite to 1st.
Perfect capture of this very special ornament, Harbie! I love ornaments that are special in this way and have such warm and tender memories attached. We had a family gathering last Saturday (aunt and cousins) and before we opened presents each person told the group what his/her favorite Christmas memory is . . . by the time we were finished listening to all those memories, we were all crying and hugging each other. It was a wonderful experience. :-)
@gaylewood Thanks so much, Gayle. What a special time you had with family. You will all remember this special reunion and the time you all cried!! Thanks so much for sharing your special time with family!
