@gijsje It does often happen but not always such a large snowfall. It is pretty and we always need the moisture, but it is very hard on the plants. They are all budding and then it gets cold. When we have a big snowfall like this, the snow is wet and heavy and can break tree branches. We brushed the snow off my lilac bush 3 times so it wouldn't break. ☺
