So I was under the impression that this flower that grew in my yard every year was a bottle brush plant - but when I just googled it to check the spelling (what did we ever do without Google?!) I realized that it did not really look like those pictures. Anyone have a clue what this is? Regardless, I like them a lot. They are one of only a few landscaping positives left behind by the previous owners. Another being the lovely lily's in the background. I think the contrast of colors is wonderful. That is what I was attempting to get a picture of but then I noticed it looked like this little fellow had a face. An evil, spooky face mind you - but cool nonetheless. Although the little bugger is overlooking the corn so obviously he does a lousy job as a scarecrow - or a scarecutworm - as the case seems to be...
