Farewell and Godspeed

Today David and I attended the funeral of my Uncle Marty. That is never a good way to spend the day although it was a very nice service. He did not go suddenly but he still went much too soon. This is the flower arrangement from the church set up next to a picture collage - I'm guessing made by his sons. I have to admit that I am a huge fan of the picture collage, especially in circumstances like these. It is so nice to remember the people we love young and happy and living life. That is actually why I like taking pictures so much. You capture so much of life - even in a cheesy snapshot - that years down the road will make you remember and make you smile. My Uncle was very artistic and didn't say much. When he did say something, it was usually very funny and/or well worth listening to. I have a feeling he could have given me a few pointers on how this could have been a better picture. Then again, he would probably just be perplexed by all the fuss... Rest in Peace Marty, you and Rose are dearly missed.
sorry for your loss....peace.

Thanks Richard.

What a lovely, heartfelt tribute to your family member. Seeing no snapshots of him there as an old man, it's all the more sad that he was taken so soon...so sorry for your loss.

Oh, dear, from the images on the board, he does not look like he could have been very old when he passed. I am so sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family.
