We were invited to a BBQ/pool party at some good friends today. I decided to bring some wine but as I am not really a "connoisseur" so much as an "enjoyer", I have been known to buy my bottles based on label alone... This was one of those times. This is a close up of the bottle I bought - and the reason I bought it - the two feuding bottles. How could you not?! It wasn't too bad as far as taste - although there was an incident after this picture was taken with the table umbrella and a gust of wind left over from Earl that wreaked a little havoc before we had a chance to give it a reasonable try. (Wine ended up on the TOP of the umbrella!! - you don't see that every day...) My cat-like reflexes rescued about 3/4ths of the bottle so we could still enjoy some of it. (I do have my priorities...) All in all It was a great afternoon! :)
That bottle is too funny! I, too, would love a collection of some of the terrific bottle art, but I suppose it's not one of those things that look good as a stack of empties...could send the wrong message! I'd say this might have set the tone for a delightful day, and you can't go wrong with that!
And a great label,too!
