Nothing Beats the Neighborhood Pumpkin Patch by hbdaly

Nothing Beats the Neighborhood Pumpkin Patch

It was by all accounts a lovely Fall day around here. We took the boys on another hike - with more poorly marked trails but no ravine to get stuck in this time!! Then we went to a nice family party where we got to see the relatives and the kids got to play with their cousins and generally run amok. My aunt happens to live next to a farm that sells pumpkins so the kids got to go over and pick out a few. You know the expression "Kid in a candy store?" Well "Kid in a pumpkin patch" would work pretty well too... The kids just loved it. And we got there just in time to help tuck the little fellows in for the night since there is supposed to be a frost tonight. Great day!
Are you doing another pumpkin b-day party extravaganza this year?? Thanks for your comment about Ruby... she is/was a very cool cat. I actually was just thinking about Sid this morning for some reason - he was a great cat as well. Funny how much personality these cats have, eh? Sigh.

@deliag Sid made it to 17 and was a total sweetheart til the end (smelly - but sweet! :) We talk about it a lot but haven't actually gotten around to getting another cat. It is almost as if I am waiting for the right cat to find me.... Keep the faith my dear and make sure you get plenty of pictures with her and Annabelle. Those are the ones she will appreciate when she gets older. And I've made Finn have a Halloween birthday every year so far so he is finally bucking the trend and demanding something else. Ah well, maybe I can force Cash into it! :)

Isn't fall grand? This looks like a great place to visit to experience the season.

What a wonderfully rural spot to photograph! Don't you love watching your boys enthusiasm as they select "the perfect pumpkin"! They're getting such a good upbringing, close to cousins and homey activities like this! ...and one day they may be adopted by a cat as well! I laughed at part of your comment... Yes, the only cat we "selected" to keep was part of a litter our feral cat left in our yard! She's since been fixed and calls our yard home, but in 10 years she's never let us touch her... Her kitten, "Pink", is also black like the new one that's adopted us!
