Patience in the Sunlight

Okay, so I actually had to leave my yard to find this beauty....

I finally went on my first Cub Scout camp out this weekend. (Long overdue if you ask David - who has gone on all the previous ones...;) The boys had a great time and all I had to do was trail behind, taking pictures of things and to make sure nobody fell off the giant split rock that the camp was named for. (FYI - boys cannot resist scaling every inch of a giant rock...) Luckily no one did fall - especially when I got a little distracted tracking down a noise in the trees. It turned out be this Barred Owl bringing supper to its good sized but still awkward babies in a tree not too far beyond the rock. If you look closely you can see the mouse in his claw as he patiently waits for me (and the crowd that had assembled around me) to go away so it could get back to work.
I do see the mouse and your patience and focus are fantastic! Love owl pictures and this is a big FAV....
