We are up in Maine on vacation and decided to stop in the Maine State Prison Store in Thomaston.(as you do...) Everything in there is made by the prisoners and the work is absolutely fabulous! I saw this and immediately thought of @Weezilou who is lucky enough to be able to post pictures of the real thing. I can't vouch for its authenticity - but it sure is pretty.... :-)
That's too fabulous and a VERY good price! How funny that I was working backward through your photos and came across this! What a delight! Only yesterday the last of the family & house guests departed and I'm on board to catch up just a bit! I think it's wonderful to give prisoners the artistic outlet and to sell their wares... If only they'd done more of this at the outset!
