While in Maine we decided to take a "family hike." The guide book said Mt. Kineo was a short "family friendly" 1.5 miles round trip with spectacular views from a fire tower on top. Well, they were right about the views - but they neglected to mention that the hike part was STRAIGHT UP THE SIDE OF A CLIFF FACE!! (Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating....but I really don't think so.) :-} The view was stunning though - once we recovered enough to look around. My oldest is not really a fan of heights - but his brother bet him three whole Doritos that he wouldn't make it to the top of the fire tower. As funny as this may look, I'm pretty sure this counts. That is serious payola in the kid world... ;-) (And no, he never actually stood up!)
